Job Description
Heartland, a wholesale food manufacturing company, is currently looking for experienced hands-on Buyer / Supply Chain Expert with 2+ years of experienced preferably in a food-manufacturing environment. The key responsibilities including, but not limited to procure raw material, including custom parts to support manufacturing for company wide needs. Strong control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary.
Responsibilities
* Purchase raw materials and other operating supplies and/or services in a timely manner to support the manufacturing of finished goods and new product development.
* Coordinate with vendors to obtain information concerning product, negotiated price, ability of vendor to provide product or service and delivery date.
* Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
* Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and other departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Work with suppliers to order and expedite product shipments and deliveries.
* Work with ERP system to perform various data entry and data analysis tasks.
* Maintain a supply chain program to plan and determine raw materials demands and required schedules.
* Interface with shipping and receiving personnel to prepare and audit shipments, perform systems transactions and track materials deliveries/shipments.
* Work with operations and logistics to enter, analyze and report performance of company shipments.
* Perform other duties as required.
Skills / Requirements Requirements
* Bachelors degree or equivalent. Supply Chain degree/major a plus.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Strong computer skills with good understanding of ERP.
* Excellent problem solving, analytical, teamwork and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Spanish language
